Legal & privacy
Terms and privacy notice — in preparation
The full legal pack for this site (website terms, lister terms and the privacy notice) is being finalised with our solicitors. Until it is published, the facts below apply and the summary describes how the site handles your data. When the full documents are published we will email every account holder, and listers will be asked to accept the new lister terms the next time they sign in.
Who we are
1 ADA is a trading name of Looking Global Limited, registered in England and Wales, company no. 15944828. VAT no. GB 478 8571 24.
Registered office: [registered office address to be published before launch].
Contact, complaints, data-subject requests and legal notices: hello@1ada.net.
Your data, in short
- When you send an enquiry we pass your name, contact details and message to the agent or seller so they can reply. That is the purpose of the site and we do not send it to anyone else.
- Accounts hold your email, name, saved properties and searches. Closing your account erases them.
- We keep enquiries for 6 years, contact messages for 2 years, and sign-in links only until they expire. Billing records are kept for six years because the law requires it.
- We use two strictly necessary cookies (your session and your language) plus one for your display currency. No advertising or analytics trackers.
- Listers are mostly in Northern Cyprus, so an enquiry you send is transferred there. The TRNC has no UK adequacy decision; we send only what the agent or seller needs to reply, on the basis of the consent you give on the form.
- We use Stripe to take payments (card details never reach our servers), Resend to send email, and Cloudflare and our hosting provider to store photos and data. They act on our instructions under UK-approved transfer terms where they process data outside the UK.
- We rely on our contract with you (accounts, listings, billing), our legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace (review, fraud checks, records of actions) and our legal duties (tax and company records).
- You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it — email hello@1ada.net. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
- If you list as a private owner we ask for your ID and the title deed of each property, to check that you own it. Only our staff see them; the files are kept apart from the site and deleted 3 months after we decide.
How long we keep things
| Enquiries sent to a lister | Your enquiry and the conversation that follows it on 1 ADA, kept as a record for you and the agent or seller: nobody can edit or delete a message. We delete the conversation six years after its last message. |
|---|---|
| Messages sent to us | Contact-form messages, kept two years as a record of what was raised and how it was resolved. |
| Owner check documents | The ID and title-deed files a private owner sends, deleted 90 days after we decide on them; the decision is kept. |
| Listing reports | Reports about a listing, kept a year after they are resolved. |
| Expired sign-in and verification links | Deleted 30 days after they expire. |
| Two-step verification codes | Deleted within a day of expiring. |
| Sign-in sessions | Sessions end after 14 days without activity (30 days at most) and are removed as soon as they expire. |
| Account data | Your profile, saved properties and searches exist while your account does. Closing it deletes them. |
| Billing and tax records | Kept six years because company and tax law requires it. |
| Records of actions on an account | Kept six years so a dispute can be answered; unlinked from the person when the account is closed. |
Listers
Estate agencies pay a monthly or yearly plan whose size caps how many listings can be live; developers pay a monthly or yearly subscription for each project; private owners pay once for each listing, for a fixed time (90 days for a sale, 30 for a rental) that does not renew by itself. Boosts are one-off extras. Prices are on the Advertise page and exclude VAT; payment is by card through Stripe. Private listings are for owners only: we check the owner’s ID and the title deed first. Listings are reviewed before publication and may be removed if they are inaccurate, misleading or unlawful. The full lister terms will replace this summary.
Private sellers (consumers): you may cancel within 14 days of first paying, by email to hello@1ada.net or from your billing page, and we refund the month less the days the listing was live. After that, cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for. Agents and developers are business customers and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
Interim — solicitor review pending. The terms below are a stop-gap written in plain language until the full legal pack is published; they will be replaced, and you will be asked to accept the new version.
Lister terms (interim)
- Who we are. These terms are between you and Looking Global Limited (company no. 15944828, registered office [registered office address to be published before launch], VAT no. GB 478 8571 24), trading as 1 ADA. Contact: hello@1ada.net.
- What we provide. A marketplace on which you advertise property you own or are authorised to market. We are not an estate agent, we are not party to any sale or tenancy, and we do not verify listings beyond the checks described here.
- Your listing. You confirm that you own the property or have the owner’s written authority to market it, that everything in the listing is accurate and not misleading, that the photos are of the property and you have the right to use them, and that the listing complies with the law where the property is. A private owner also sends us their ID and the property’s title deed so we can check that they own it. You give us a licence to display, translate, resize and distribute the listing and its photos on the site and in our emails and feeds for as long as it is live, and to keep it in our records afterwards.
- Review and removal. We check every listing before it goes live and may refuse, edit or remove a listing at any time if we think it is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, duplicated or harmful to buyers, and we may suspend an account for repeated problems. We tell you why and you can resubmit.
- Fees. Estate agencies pay a plan: Starter £59 a month for up to 25 live listings, Pro £129 a month for up to 100, Premier £249 a month for any number, with 10 featured credits a month. Developers pay £199 a month for each project. A yearly plan costs 10 months’ fees. Private owners pay £49 for a sale listing (90 days) or £15 for a rental listing (30 days), plus VAT where it applies (£58.80 or £18 including UK VAT). Boosts: featured in search £9 for 7 days, homepage showcase £29 for 7 days, bump to top £3. Prices exclude VAT. Payment is by card through Stripe, which issues your invoices and receipts. We may change the fees on 30 days’ notice by email; a plan keeps its price until its first renewal after the notice period, and Founding Partners keep the price they started on.
- Renewal and ending. Plans and project subscriptions renew monthly or yearly until you cancel them or we close your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for, which is not refunded, except as set out in clause 7. A private owner’s listing time and boosts are one-off purchases that do not renew. Moving to a bigger plan is charged at once for the rest of the period; moving to a smaller one leaves a credit. If a payment fails we retry; if it still fails the plan ends and its listings come down.
- Private owners: your right to cancel. If you are a consumer you may cancel within 14 days of paying, for any reason, by email to hello@1ada.net. By publishing (or buying a boost) you ask us to start the service straight away; if you cancel within the 14 days we refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the days the listing was live or the boost ran. Once the service has been provided in full, the right to cancel for a refund ends. You can use the model cancellation form at the end of this page, but you do not have to.
- Our liability. We are not liable for the accuracy of listings, for any sale or tenancy, or for loss of business, profit or data. Our total liability to you for anything arising from these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything the law does not allow us to limit; if you are a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights.
- Your data. We process your data as described in the privacy section of this page. Enquiries from buyers are sent to you; you must use them only to reply about the property and must protect them.
- Complaints and disputes. Email hello@1ada.net; we acknowledge complaints within three working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction; if you are a consumer living elsewhere you keep the protection of the mandatory rules where you live.
- Changes. We may update these terms; we will email account holders and ask listers to accept material changes the next time they sign in. Version 0.2-interim, effective 23 Sept 2026.
Website terms (interim)
- The site is free to use to search, save and enquire. Listings are supplied by agents, developers and private sellers; we review them before publication but cannot guarantee they are accurate or that a property is available. Prices are set by the lister in the currency shown; conversions are approximate.
- Any sale, reservation or tenancy is between you and the lister. Take independent legal advice in the TRNC before paying a deposit or signing anything, and never pay a lister before you have verified them and the property.
- Do not misuse the site (scraping, false enquiries, abuse of listers or staff). We may close accounts that do.
- Our liability to you is limited to what the law does not allow us to exclude; we are not liable for a lister’s conduct or for any transaction. Governed by the law of England and Wales; consumers keep their local mandatory rights.
